Lifelike Slot Car Racing Adds Reality To The Sport

Lifelike slot car racing uses very realistic slot cars, tracks, and racing venues to reproduce real-world racing conditions. Slot cars are scale models of full size racing cars. The primary slot car scales are 1:24, 1:32, and HO. The 1:24 scale, for example, means that the miniature slot car is 24 times smaller than its real counterpart. Lifelike slot car racing is performed in slotted or grooved tracks. Each car has a blade or fin that protrudes beneath the car into these slots. The electrically charged slots conduct electricity through the car's blades to the electric motors of the lifelike slot car racing vehicles.

Lifelike slot car racing had its origins in model train manufacturing. A company called Life Like Products LLC manufactured toys, slot cars, and scale model railroad equipment. The Life Like company was purchased by Wm. K. Walthers, Inc. Walthers, Inc. has claimed to be the largest supplier of model railroad equipment in the world. The lifelike slot car racing purchase was Walther's Inc. first investment in scale model vehicles outside of the model train arena. Walther's, Inc. is about to pass the 75 year mark in manufacturing train and lifelike slot car racing parts. The life-like slot cars have been manufactured for less time than the other products.

Most lifelike slot car racing equipment is in HO scale (1:64). The toy companies TOMY, Mattel, and Walther's Life-Like line make a wide variety of lifelike slot car racing tracks and cars. Most are interchangeable with the addition of adapters. Lifelike slot car racing cars mimic popular race cars. One challenging lifelike slot car racing track for sale includes two detailed NASCAR champions. These include the DuPont #24 car and the Lowe's #48 car. Other popular lifelike slot car racing vehicles include the Home Depot #20 racer and the DeWalt #17 racer. Almost any popular NASCAR racing car can be purchased in a lifelike slot car racing version.

The tracks are also important when performing lifelike slot car racing. The track must match the HO scale of the lifelike slot car racing vehicles. Tracks are not as life-like as the cars, however. These tracks feature multiple tight curves, overpasses, and even loops that no full-size racing car could ever negotiate. The fun in lifelike slot car racing relies on racing scale model replicas of real cars on wild and crazy tracks to see what would happen. The speed and excitement of lifelike slot car racing are similar to that of real racing. The accidents are spectacular as well. Anyone who is a fan of NASCAR, Formula I, or any other racing would definitely enjoy getting into the sport of lifelike slot car racing.

Star Wars slot car sets dont use cars
